ADA Requirements for the Design of Parking Spaces

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issued new regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 2010. These regulations include designating accessible parking for state and local government agencies and public accommodations (private businesses that are open to the general public, like retail stores, restaurants, banks and parking garages).

The course is based on “Accessible Parking” fact sheet developed by Mid-Atlantic ADA Center (2017) and Parking chapter of “A Planning Guide for Making Temporary Events Accessible to People with Disabilities” publication  by ADA National Network (2015). This course is part of our Building Design category of courses.

This course provides information, guidance and training on the parking requirements of the 2010 regulations of the ADA. The course is intended for architects, urban planners, engineers and other construction professionals, as well as anyone interested in ADA requirements for the design of parking spaces.
