Restoring Small Urban Watersheds

This PDH online course is a part of the Civil Engineering course category.

This course provides guidance on concepts and techniques for urban watershed restoration and provides a framework to evaluate subwatershed restoration potential. It also provides a planning approach to develop effective subwatershed restoration plans.

The course also sets a simple subwatershed classification system to define expected stream impacts and restoration potential. Seven broad groups of restoration practices are defined, and description is given as to where to look in the subwatershed to implement them.

This course is intended for use by civil, environmental and sustainability engineers, construction professionals and others interested in learning about restoring urban watersheds.

This course is based upon Center for Watershed Protection, “An Integrated Framework to Restore Small Urban Watersheds” manual, Version 2.0, 2005.
