CE-003 Transmission Lines, Towers and Substation: 8 PDH

Description of the course / activity content:
This online course introduces you to Environmental Protection and Best Management Practices (BMPs) for planning and conducting transmission line construction and maintenance activities. In this course you will learn how to minimize erosion and prevent or control sedimentation and other pollutants from land disturbance and land management activities. You will also learn how, if properly applied, BMPs would help protect the quality of surface waters and ground water.
Because sediment is the major potential pollutant, and because sediment is a product of soil erosion, the major emphasis of this course will be on those practices designed to reduce or prevent erosion. You will also learn of practices that keep the soil in place and aid in reducing the risk of other pollutants reaching surface waters, wetlands, and ground water.
This course is intended for use by engineers, environmental and construction professionals, transmission line maintenance teams and others interested in learning about the BMPs in Transmission Lines, Towers and Substation construction and maintenance.
