E-008 Circuit Measurement

E-008 Circuit Measurement

Circuit Measurement

The Circuit Measurement online PDH course is a part of the Electrical Engineering category of courses. This course will introduce you to basic meters, meter construction and techniques to use meters in the circuit.

Basic Meters includes: Ammeter, Voltmeter, Ohmmeter, Multi-meter, Wattmeter, Watt-hour meter, and Frequency meter. Meter Construction and mechanism is described in details in this course, including the way meter shall be connected in a circuit and methods used for different value range.

This course will introduce you to the minimum safety precautions measures when to prevent injury or damage to the equipment. It is important to always observe the general safety precautions of electrical and electronic devices.

After completion of this course you will have a basic understanding of the Circuit Measurement instruments and methods to use them.

This course is based on the Naval Education and Training Materials (NAVEDTRA 14175), Electricity and Electronic Training Series, publication “Circuit Measurement”.

This course is intended for electrical engineers and other professional engineers interesting in general knowledge of electrical circuitry measurements.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Identify variety of circuit measurements
  • Select appropriate type of meter for intended circuit measurement
  • Define meter sensitivity
