Liquid Process Piping – Ancillary Equipment & Corrosion Protection
The Liquid Process Piping online course is a part of the Mechanical course category. This online course provides basic information on ancillary equipment and corrosion protection for liquid process piping systems.
Liquid process piping systems include all pipe and appurtenances which are used to convey liquids to, from and between pumping, storage and treatment units and which are not integral to any unit (i.e., piping that is furnished as a part of the unit). This course will help you get a better understanding of the ancillary equipment used for such systems (such as flexible couplings, air and vacuum relief drains, sample ports, pressure relief devices, backflow prevention, static mixers, expansion joints, piping insulation and heat tracing) and available and required corrosion protection.
This course is based on Chapters 11 and 12 of the “Liquid Process Piping” engineering manual, published by the United States Army of Corps of Engineers (USACE), Publication Number EM 1110-1-4008.
This course is intended for use by mechanical and industrial engineers, oil & gas and construction professionals, and others interested in learning about the ancillary equipment and corrosion protection for liquid process piping systems.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- List and understand all ancillary equipment and their function in a liquid process piping systems
- Understand specifications and application of above mention ancillary components
- Understand and apply knowledge on corrosion protection for liquid process piping systems, such as cathodic protection and protective coatings
