Fluid Flow

The Fluid Flow online 2 PDH course is a part of the Mechanical Engineering category of courses. This online 6 hour PDH course provides introduction to fluid flow theory, calculation of head losses and centrifugal pumps.

Fluid flow is an important part of most industrial processes; especially those involving the transfer of heat. Frequently, when it is desired to remove heat from the point at which it is generated, some type of fluid is involved in the heat transfer process. Examples of this are the cooling water circulated through a gasoline or diesel engine, the air flow past the windings of a motor, and the flow of water through the core of a nuclear reactor. Fluid flow systems are also commonly used to provide lubrication.

This course is based on Volume 3 of DOE-HDBK-1012/3-92, “Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Flow” published by the Department of Energy.

This course is intended for mechanical and industrial engineers, and other design and construction professionals interested in learning more about the fluid flow.
