Description of the Firefighting and Fire Prevention course
The Firefighting and Fire Prevention online 2 PDH course is a part of the Mechanical Engineering category of courses. The operation and maintenance personnel around a powerplant, pumping plant, or other Reclamation establishment are not presumed to be firefighters, but occasionally their duties may make it necessary for them to fight fires. The purpose of this course is to supply O&M personnel, engineers, architects and project managers with fundamental facts which may prove valuable in such an emergency and acquaint them will the use, care, and testing of firefighting equipment.
It is assumed that operation and maintenance personnel are familiar with the common safety practices in connection with fire prevention and general safety around electrical equipment. This course is designed to help improve work along these lines.
This course is based on United States Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation publication “Firefighting and Fire Prevention”.
The data in this course are intended to supplement Subpart L, Fire Protection, part 1910 of Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Labor, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), Occupational Safety and Health Standards, and to provide a quick reference for answers to most firefighting problems.
This course is intended for all engineers, architects, other construction and maintenance professionals and project managers who want to learn about firefighting and fire prevention.

Length of the Course / Activity
This course is intended to be studied at self-pace and it should take on average of 2 hour to read and be able to comprehend the material to successfully past the online quiz.
To receive the certificate of completion for the above 2 PDH online course, you will need to take a 10-question multiple choice quiz based on the reference material supplied and pass with minimum score of 70%. There is no time limit for the quiz and it can be taken multiple times until a passing score of 70% is achieved.
Certificate of Completion
Once you achieve a passing score of 70% on the quiz you will receive and be able to print your Certificate of Completion as a record of your continuing education. PDH Star will keep a record of your certificate for the duration as required by your state of licensure. You will be able to log on to your account and view and print your past Certificate of Completion.
