RE-003 Net Zero Campus Using Modular Construction: 3 PDH
Description of the Net Zero Campus Using Modular Construction course
The Net Zero Campus Using Modular Construction online PDH course is a part of the Renewable Energy category of courses. This course looks at how modular construction can be utilized to develop a net zero energy campus.
In the drive towards environmental stewardship, there has been an increase in not only the design of high performing sustainable buildings, but also the use of sustainable construction practices. Projects have begun to use modular construction.
While modular construction may offer a multitude of benefits, the high cost of building energy consumption remains. This course showcases an attempt solve that problem. With the future creation of a 10 Mega-Watt Photovoltaic System and a shift towards modular construction, it may be feasible to generate a Zero Energy Campus whose energy consumption zeros out and environmental footprint remains minimal.
The online PDH course is based on Los Alamos National Laboratory publication titled “Net Zero Campus Using Modular Construction”
This course is intended to be used by architects, all engineers and project managers and other construction professionals interested in learning about building a net zero energy modular campuses.
At the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Discuss the concepts of Zero Energy Buildings (ZEBs) and ZEB Campuses
- Identify the terminology associated with ZEBs and ZEB Campuses
- Explain the importance of the campus boundary for ZEB Campuses
- List the benefits of modular construction
